Research Associate Director
Lauren Guggenheim is the Research Associate Director for the Center of Political Studies. In that role, she oversees the Center’s research staff, participates in Center leadership, and supports the Center and Center faculty on research and proposal development. She also participates on research projects as a lead researcher.
Lauren has been with the Center for Political Studies since 2014. At CPS, she has worked on the American National Elections Study (ANES), Empirical Implications of Theoretical Models (EITM), election forensics, and the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES). Before joining the Center for Political Studies, she was a postdoctoral research fellow in Communication Studies at the University of Michigan where she also received her Ph.D. She additionally has a graduate certificate in survey methodology from the University of Michigan. Her work has been published in a number of scholarly journals including Public Opinion Quarterly, Communication Research, Personality and Individual Differences, and Journal of Communication. Her research interests include political communication, survey methodology, and public opinion.
