Yuen Yuen Ang was awarded the 2018 Zelizer Best Book Award in Economic Sociology by the American Sociological Association for her book How China Escaped the Poverty Trap. The book “truly offers game-changing ideas for the analysis and implementation of socio-economic development and should have a major impact across many social sciences,” the prize committee writes.
