Gallup 2012 presidential election polling review

CPS researcher Michael Traugott co-led a review of the pre-election polling methods used by Gallup during the time of the 2012 presidential election in the United States. The review focused on survey and sample design, field management, and data handling. The resulting report identified four factors that most likely contributed to the difference between Gallup’s estimate and the final results.
